myGP app 

We are aware that some patients are having issues with the myGP app.  This can be either a very slow connection or the inability to order repeat medication.  myGP are aware of this and are working to resolve the issue. You can, however, use Patient Access either via the app or on your PC.  Click here for details on how to register for Patient Access.  We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Please be aware that it is not a GP’s responsibility to issue school letters of absence for your children, regarding COVID-19 or other illness. Government guidance is that school attendance is mandatory unless your child is self-isolating, has symptoms of COVID-19 or is close to someone who has COVID-19.

Advanced Clinical Practitioners

Advanced Clinical Practitioners are specialist nurses who are highly trained to examine, assess and prescribe.  They work closely with the doctors in providing a high standard of medical care and you may be offered an appointment with a nurse practitioner as an alternative to a doctor. They are trained to Masters degree level and are able to treat a wide variety of illnesses and conditions.  Advanced Nurse practitioners are able to prescribe medication.

Practice Nurses

Practice Nurses are experienced nurses with specialist knowledge in chronic disease management such as diabetes and respiratory problems.  They also provide a wide range of services including travel health advice and vaccinations, injections, family planning, health checks and cervical screening.

Clinical research is essential for continually improving standards of patient care.  Research Nurses play a vital role in ensuring clinical research studies run smoothly and that participants are safe and fully informed.

Health Care Assistants

Health Care Assistants are important members of the team supporting the nursing staff and doctors.  Their services include blood sampling, blood pressure testing (including 24 hours blood pressure monitoring), administering some vaccines and injections, ECG’s, assisting with minor operations and health checks.
