Noticeboard

Due to the increase of severity of the Coronavirus outbreak, Lancaster Medical Practice is screening ALL appointments booked.  It is important that you answer all questions honestly and accurately to ensure we provide you with the correct advice and treatment, and to protect our staff and other patients. 


To allow us to screen all our appointments, we have temporarily switched off some of our online booking facilities.  These services will resume in due course.  Appointments can be made by telephoning the practice.

Extended Hours

The North Lancashire Extended Access Service is available for patients registered with Ash Trees Surgery, Bay Medical Group, Lancaster Medical Practice, and Queen Square Surgery.

The Service includes:

  • WEEKDAY pre-bookable and same day general practice appointments from 6.30 pm to 8.00 pm
  • WEEKEND pre-bookable and same day appointments on both Saturday and Sunday

Appointments for this service can be booked by phoning the surgery between the hours of 8.00 am and 6.30 pm, Monday to Friday.  If phoning outside of these hours, please dial 111.

8 am to 2.30 pm Health Care Assistant and Practice Nurse Appointments providing blood  / smear and long term condition reviews

Sunday
8 am to 2 pm  GP appointments, Health Care Assistant  and Practice Nurse Appointments providing blood  / smear and long term condition reviews

GP appointments are for all routine conditions however may exclude patients with on-going chronic conditions which require continuity of care from their usual GP, eg, patients with severe on-going mental health issues.

Chronic Disease Nurse Clinics provide annual reviews for patients with a long-term condition, eg, COPD, Asthma, hypertension and cardiovascular disease.

Health Care Assistants can carry out venepuncture (blood testing), ECGs and Wound care.

Patients can book these appointments via their practice receptionist as usual. To obtain an appointment outside practice opening hours, call your normal practice number and your call will be diverted to the Extended Access Service. 

Only patients who have a pre-booked appointment will be given access to the practice to see the Clinician.
