Noticeboard

Following the Government's announcement that the wearing of face masks in shops will be compulsory from Friday 24th July, we are receiving requests for letters of exemption.

The current government guidelines do not currently require an individual to provide evidence of exemption and as such, we are unable to provide letters regarding this.

If you are unable to wear a face covering, there are a number of websites from which you can print an exemption notice that politely advises others as to why you are not wearing a face covering.

Publication of Earnings 2018/19

All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

The average pay for GPs working in the Lancaster Medical Practice in the last financial year before tax and National Insurance was £46,070

This is for 7 full time GPs, 31 part time GPs, and 2 locum GPs who worked in the practice for more than 6 months.

It should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice, and should not be used to form any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make any comparison with any other practice.
