Changes to the NHS in Morecambe Bay
From 1st July 2022, there will be some changes to the NHS in Morecambe Bay and the wider Lancashire and South Cumbria area.
Morecambe Bay Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), the organisation that commissions health services locally, will be closing down. It will, along with other CCGs in the region, be replaced by NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria, which will be an integrated care board (ICB) covering the Lancashire and South Cumbria area. This new organisation will aim to reduce variations in services across the area and create safer, more joined-up healthcare. We want to reassure patients that these changes will not impact how you access NHS frontline services.
